I have received a call on 12/3/9 ,My mother answer the phone. she told me that there is a free security system offer so&so. I get on the phone and speak with this Lady that's tells me she is from guardian security systems,have i ever hear of them? yes i replied! she goes on to say that i can get a free honey well system ,Installed & equipment 4 free There will be a service fee of about $1.00 a day can they set up an appointment to speak with a sales rep... She had asked few questions was I the home owner /yes/ I say! do u have good credit? yes i say. This was ask a couple more times. So an appointment was set up for the next day 12/4/09 at 6pm. So the salesmen arrives at 6pm,tells me & my mom how guardian is so extensive in there hiring of workers and other companies r not ,also talks about his family,and in doing this says he is from matawan. I'm going to FFwrd a bit. He wants to know my credit score/he expects me to sing up with out reading the contract when i ask him to leave it hear he got frazzled,hands were shaking when dialing his phone a women answered he told her i wouldn't sing up & quickly hung up his hole demeanor has changed he's still shaking. I watch him leave in such a rush that I check his plates out theres no front plate the back plate is from Florida. Now this is weird,so i call the police! While waiting 4 them to get here im replaying the hole event in my head, I remembered he told me about this hole identity theft scheme that starts out of the country and comes back in the U.S it was detailed,he also told me that basement window alarms r not needed they will just kick in your door. Hmmm I nkow if i was a thief i would go threw the basement window,then i remembered the hiring process he was bragging about. What i didn't mention b4 was when leaving he told me they only pay him 4 3hrs 2 in travel and 1 in the house & that he was on disability or SS one of those,any company that does background checks is not going to defraud the government like that 4 a worker. So i went on my caller Id and got some numbers & looked them up. Then I found guardian online called them up they didn't have my name on file 4any appointments & they do not solicit calls to people,they were concerned so gave me the number to the Phillie office,but they r not opened till Monday. so i did more research online with these telephone numbers & traced them to a Gardme security "wow" the hole time this sales men was selling me the Guardian service,and he works 4 Gardme. Gardme is a distributor & installer,they r using other companies names to sell their product. while typing this my phone rings its one of those numbers that I have look up so I answer and wait 4bout 30sec an what do u know I've been selected to have a ADT system 4free installed I tell them to put me on the do not call list and do not mention any of this. I'm going to contact ADT & guardian on Monday and explain whats going on with this scam.. I've been trying 2 figure out there scam but only see that they r using other names to get contracts singed witch will reveal your SS# your credit card info and everything else. Gardme doesn't have any complaints other then there calling ways that I have see,I did a search on the number they gave me to cancel and it came back as a cell phone wantagh NY. Wile in my search if I find any more info out I'll post it....
This number has been calling for the last 3 weeks since I installed Comcast, every single hour of the day. They call once an hour. Wow, this is the worst harrassment I've ever had with any one number. Something should be done about these people!
That's funny - I was given the number 866-270-8700 to talk to Pat if I couldn't make the appointment made. Maybe between your number and mine people will be able to call and get them to NOT show up. Their salesperson was downright insulting and when I refused to give them my business without doing some research first, he treated me as if I was an imbecile!!
I did a reverse-lookup of the number. Yep, it was Spectracom.
