My standard explanation is that the company doesn't accept personal calls and that the individual making the inquiry should contact [his or her intended target] either on their cell or at home. This woman interrupted with "Interesting" and hung up while I was in mid-sentence. Have noticed that when I catch someone in a lie or call them up short, their typical reaction is to say "Interesting" (and then get off the phone ASAP). So, they think they're Mr. Spock or something?
