I received a call while driving. I told them I was not available to my computer and asked for a call back number. Was given 855-481-5399 which is a scammer telemarketer. The caller ID'ed himself as Jack from Geek Support Live. I never called back.
Just received this call too my cell phone. Did not answer it. No message left. It ID'd it was from CT USA area. Oddly enough I have seen Geek Squad Mentioned here in posts. Geek Squad VW vehicle and person showed up at my door. Did not answer door either as I did not call them. I figure a scam for sure.
Just received a call from 860-111-1666. Tired of getting unsolicited calls so I decided to answer and give them a piece of my mind. A man with a very heavy accent claimed he was from Geek Squad Tech Support. I demanded his first and last name, his supervisor's name and a direct line to call them. He gave his name as "Neina Johnson". I requested again for a supervisor and direct line because they are violating the "Do Not Call" legislation. He then hung up on me.
Got a call this afternoon trying to tell me I had viruses on my computer. Told him I already took care of everything and then I hung up. Got them blocked on my iPhone! It's a scam because you're full everybody
Called again on 08/24/2014 @ 12:03 PM from China. I got a lot of these calls from 2 spoofed (860) Connecticut numbers a few weeks ago. Then they stopped. Now their back at it. The other number was
(860) 111-1111. This is the computer virus scam that has been going on for several years. They commonly spoof (860) Conneticuit numbers, but others as well.
Lots of spoofed numbers being used lately. Many are similar or almost identical to your own so you think it's a local call. Last we my own landline number called me. I was home watching TV and Caller ID pops up on the TV with my name and number. The phone was in its cradle. Besides it you call yourself you get a busy signal. Carefully scrutinize all calls before you choose to answer.
There is no supervisor to talk to. The caller is not from Microsoft, Best Buy, Geek Squad or whatever they claim. This call was a from a scammer based in China. Save yourself some grief and just let it ring until they hang up. Then report it here if that makes you feel better, You'll have a much better day.
