This is supposedly "Childrens Cancer Recovery"  When I called back it is an enthusiastic recording that wants to waste more of my time. So I looked them up. If you call the 800 number a recording tells you about the trip to the Bahamas you've just won

I received a phone call at 8:30 a.m. this morning which woke me out of much needed sleep. I am on the Do Not Call list. I have never heard of your “charity” nor do I respond to phone solicitations of any kind. Any charity we give to is personally known to us and we choose it, it does not harass us for donations.
I tried to call your toll free number and I win a Bahamas trip???  Reeks of scam to me.

This organization made #11 on the worst charities list. http://www.tampabay.com/americas-worst-charities/ 0.6% of the funds raised actually go to the sick kids. Don't give them the time of day! Unfortunately for us, charities are exempt from the DNC Registry. Don't answer or hang up.

I have a Panasonic cordless phone bought in Costco that can block up to 30 phone numbers.  You manually enter the number(s) on a call block screen and you're done, and you can eliminate a blocked number at will.  When a blocked call comes in, the phone will ring once and once only.  The screen will say "call blocked," and the ringing stops, so I will not answer the phone on the first ring, knowing that if it rings a second time, it is not a blocked number.  Costco now has a Panasonic cordless phone that will block up to 250 numbers.  You should be able to buy this elsewhere too.  Maybe other phone manufacturers also have this feature.

The Caller ID stated: Childrens Cancer. The women on the line was a professional. She was a step ahead of me, coming up with new pledge ideas way before I even finished my sentence. The call was not even a minute long. When she realized she will not succeed just hang up on me.
I called the number. They are just harvesting money...

I wish someone could do something about these calls, I had to purchase multiple phones with call block features because we are constantly being harassed by these characters. I have 40 calls blocked already and still receive new ones every other day, before the new phones we were getting at least 10 unwanted calls daily. I now purchased phones that can block 250 calls, and certainly hope that they are not needed, but at least I have the peace of mind now knowing I can stop most all of them. Our phone home is a necessity for various reasons, or I would have just stopped the service altogether which I have given a lot of thought to doing. The do not call list is a joke, I don't even know why it exists,.
