I have gotten this call but from 803-587-8439 and they left a message and asked me to call back at 786-517-8390 with a case number. I record all of my calls on my cell phone and advised them that I was doing so. They claim I owe on a payday loan, which I have used before (in 2011) which they say they are from 2011. I asked them to mail me the information so i can make arrangements (I am not paying anything). The have called me from different numbers but basically the same type of information. The scary part is they had my whole social security number....going to report them at the ftc.gov
Yes and when I called it went straight to being on hold with music, no company name or anything. I think so to. I got these same calls around the same time last year. They can file with my county if they have any legal matters.
Yeah I got the same calls but last year was my first time getting those calls ever so I was petrified. They said I owed money for a loan I took out etc and like a dummy I paid them. When I told my husband what happen he told me it was a scam and to call the bank and tell them and get my money back. After that day I never let no phantam caller tell me I owe them anything. If they have a legal issue file it with my county and state because I have no connections to Connecticut. Or they can send me a letter. Which is what bill collectors are legally suppose to do send you a letter stating the debt and you can decide to dispute it.
The exact same thing happened to me Lynn and they were says he it was about a pay day loan. I was so worried but I never took anything out. I agree with you. I have no ties to that state and if they have any legal matter they can file one in court. I hope the calls stop for you.
Please keep in mind that extortion scam operations are not beyond using someones business ID and/or real peoples names (attorneys etc) to further their cause!
