How is defrauding an insurance company not fraudulent or illegal?!

You say you're "putting this info here to inform people" but why did you even look the number up? You  claim you no longer work there so why did you look up the phone number of your former employer? Especially as you didn't even like the job. You seem to be very defensive of a company you don't work for, you know.

The original lead post from January was hit by this site's Beheader Bug. Here's my copy:

You got some bloody nerve barreling in here after one unspecific call report just to run your pretzel-shaped damage control logic for an obvious fraud shop. Your grasp of how health care is supposed to work will get you killed before you even qualify for Medicare, an outcome which may do the rest of us a great favor. This is the correct event sequence leading to purchase of an assistive device:

1)  Patient: "Boy, am I ever in chronic pain and having limited mobility. I'm going to see my doctor!"
2)  Doctor: "It's a good thing you came to me in person for an exam. You're in tough shape. I know of several devices which can help you, and here is what I recommend for your specific needs. I'll be right here if you need help using it."
3)  Doctor issues prescription for suggested device, allowing insurance to absorb some or all of its cost.
4)  Insurer approves the purchase, which is known to be medically necessary and beneficial to the insured party.
5)  Patient obtains device and is given correct guidance in its use, and soon experiences relief.

The racket you are softsoaping seeks to reverse that sensible process. First get a gross ton of the dingus, then find a sucker who will buy one, then hustle the buyer to some payola doctor or some fool who likes to play dress-up in a lab coat, and finally bill the insurer before anyone notices what's wrong. Won't solve your problem? Not the right device? Cheap build from China which will fall apart next week? Causes more pain and injury than the patient started with? Who cares! We're just here to help .... help a telemarketing mogul buy another million dollar cottage by the beach, that is.

I tried explaining that backward logic problem to one of your mealy-mouthed peers in Gujarat Province some months ago. He kept reading from his script of lies and insisting on speaking to "duh Med-ee-care hole-daaah", which would only happen over my corpse.

You also make the same fractured assumption as every other call center apologist, that somehow compliance with state and Federal laws which bind on cold sales callers is never needed until someone complains loudly, the attorney general sends a nasty letter, or someone gets cheesed enough to sue. The advice to merely "place your number in their DNC list" won't wash while the offending company refuses to admit to a real name and location. The crooks will simply crank up the autodialer again in a couple months under new obfusacting names like "Pain Center" and "Medi-Help" and "Back Brace Waffle House".

There is much more to be said, and luckily for us all I've covered it two whole years ago in a different 'Medical Insurance Poaching' thread, also in reaction to "the back brace commercial" none of us "saw on TV".
