someone wanted to let me know that there would be some people giving out free in home alarm systems... I think my DROID apps are giving my phone number out.
Sketchy number so I didn't answer. Left a blank VM. I'm not sure about y'all, but I never answer any odd numbers. If it's legit, they will Ieave a message. I have no idea why these donkeys even try. It's called caller ID and it's not a luxury anymore. Everyone has it.
Received a call to my 503 number here in Portland, OR. No message left. When I returned the call a recorded message indicated that I should hit 1 to be removed from their list.
Some prerecorded message saying press 1 if I want a free home alarm system as they will be in my neighborhood next week. Oh really, my neighborhood... free home alarm... Where is that wagon they think I just fell off.
Why are there not laws in effect to find out who these [***] are so we can file law suits against them for harrassment.
This is how I would write the phone solicitation law. The caller has to Identify themselves and give a physical address as well as a phone number. They then have to prior to rolling out the sales jargon give you the option of "opting out" of future harrassment if you so choose.
