Exact same issue right now. A woman by the name of PAm Walker handling the account. They said I owed money to A Paragon Funding. I do not. Could not give me an acct number, an address or phone number for them. I researched them myself. Paragon's (who they say is the original creditor) phone number is disconnected and when you click on the website it gives you an error, because there is no website. They could not tell me the amount of the loan either, just that it was under $400. When I told them I could prove the money wasn't deposited in my account they told me it was added to a prepaid card and that it wouldn't have been deposited. I told them that I recently pulled my credit report and that if it's been on there since 2012 it would be on there. They informed me that it wouldn't be on there because they do not report on credit. I asked how they planned on garnishing me. They said that it was a collateral loan and it would be my word against theirs when taken to court and the judge would know it's legit because I had to have given the all of my personal info. For them to possess it. And how else would they have received it. One of my contacts that they listed was a relative I haven't spoken to in 15 plus years. There's no way I would have even thought to list him as a contact and def. wouldn't have known his contact info. When I called them back and called them out on it being a scam they yelled back at me, hung up on me multiple times, etc. all calls I received were from Missouri numbers when they stated they were out of GA. Their excuse is that they're a satellite company. They told me I called earlier and accused them of stealing a property management companies identity. (Not me!) let them know that I was calling the attorney general, the police, the BBB and that it had been reported in other places. Their response "do it! The only people that get mad about us collecting a debt are those people that know they're guilty and don't want to pay their bills". This same company has been reported in multiple sites and also goes by RMS. If anyone gets additional info. Please post!
I had the same call and was scared so I paid it . The physical location they give is a UPS place. I found the names of the so called CEO and two others and found them on Facebook . They all live in Georgia and appear quite wealthy . Also one of the numbers I received calls from was one of theirs... Roman Kutikov -- personal cell . I tried talking to the lady that called me originally who goes by the name Pamela Walker and when I started asking questions she transferred me to her "manager" . The manager stated they used UPS to get their mail because people became angry at debt collectors and were in fear of Someone coming in and shooting them. He stated I must have seen shootings on TV and " surely I didn't want that did to them" and yes that was a quote from him . He told me to check the BBB website . I did and they aren't accredited. He also rattled off two other sites. They do have a business license in GA as a foreign for profit business but they are not on the website for accredited debt collectors . Anyways, don't fall for it .
