Called saying they were from Microsoft and said that i had a problem on my computer. If i would just give them access to my computer they would fix it.

called me in nov and said they were from micosoft and I had a problem they could fix. I let them in my pc and had to get it fixed by tech. they screwed it up. its a scam. donot let them take over your pc. they also wanted 200.00 drs for them to fix.
Got a call from this number claiming to be Jordan from Microsoft (South Asian accent) and that they had detected a problem with my computer.
Jordan then directed me to turn on my computer (which was already on) and click on the Start button (apparently they don't think customers use Windows 8 now). When I questioned the fact that he didn't know this, he transferred me to a supervisor who spoke better English and claimed to know that I had Windows 8, he said that he's from Windows Technical Support but still had an accent with a made-up name which when I pressed for a spelling said was Avan Cyrus, with a call back number of 315-779-6755. When I requested his employee ID he quoted a private IP address 192.*.*.*
I advised him not to play games and he proceeded to swear profusely and hung up.
