Got a call at my parents house. Demanded I call back by 3pm today. Gave me a case number. Knew personal information of family members (names) and REALLY outdated information about me. Demanded payment of $500+ or they would summon all family members to appear in court and didn't OR wouldn't provide me with any documentation to support their claims. Been a victim of scams before... this appears to be another one.
These people are scammers. Do not pay them anything! They will not stop. If you pay, they will have other "agents" call about another bill you owe and shake you down for as much money as they can get from you.
I called the police and they advised me to change my phone number and have my bank change my account numbers. I put fraud alerts on every account and credit card I have just to be sure. These people are evil scum and they are not from this country. The police say they NEVER call someone they are about to arrest. Think about it, if they call you, you can run to avoid being arrested.
These people called me three or four times a day for about six months from numbers all over the United States trying to get me to pay a Pay Day loan. I have never had a Pay Day loan. I don't know how they got any information from me but they had my cell phone number, my address, my bank name and bank account numbers, and my Social Security Number. I am in the process of getting my SSN number changed with the Social Security office right now, also. This is a long process but it can be done. I have a fraud alert with them, also.
Also, just so you know, you can try to block the calls but they get new numbers and start the calling again. In six months I had blocked about thirty phone numbers. They are relentless.
Yes ,,,you're right that lady called me this morning about an old credit card that I have in collection since 2009...she was asking me for almost 3000 dollars or they gonna take that money from my bank accounts without any judgment against me..but I already reported this to the consumer affairs and they gonna investigate this people
