These people will NOT take no for an answer. We declined their help for three days in a row, and then he went nuts and called us over 20 times in a row, screaming at me how they're trying to help me. Lord, what idiots.
These guys will drive you crazy. One is named Matt. I have asked 2 times to quit calling. He will not!!! Today. he has called five times. He even calls from a private number. They say they help with dept owed to the IRS. I wish the prick would quit calling me. I seems that when I ASKED HIM TO QUIT CALLING HE CALLS MORE AND MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am also receiving several calls from this same company. Sometimes three a day. I also have asked them to stop harrassing me but the calls continue. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau and I am keeping a log of all the calls, date, time, number and name. I encourage everyone to do the same. The company's name is Greer Creek or GC Or CCE out of South Carolina.
This company calls several times a day. They say they have information on the business that they need to get to us. However, the information they have is old to begin with. Not to mention, too, when I told them to stop calling, they said "We don't have to" and said "we have a right to call you.." I told them that I do not want nor need their services. And, then the witch went on to say "Well, I do have a right to call you.. you haven't paid your taxes.. I have kids that go to school.. I am an American citiezen" and then when I told her continual calling was just harassment her reply was "YOU'RE HARASSING ME!!! We have attorneys here in this office.. we'll file a case against you"..
So what do we need to take away from all of this?
1) Public information doesn't grant anyone person or firm the right to contact people and harass them.
2) When you are asked if you're from the government, don't say YES, when you're not.
3) You can have all the attorney's on staff that you want, which is probably a good thing, because you'll need them when the FTC and FCC comes down hard on you. Abusing tax and public information with intent to defraud people is a crime in this country and a hard one too!
4) No business has "the right" to continually call people. No business or marketing service has the RIGHT to contact someone once someone has told you not to.
5) While we had a tax bill slip, we took care of it. The information this scam-artist of a firm has is old. The ONLY collecting firm capable of collecting on a tax bill is the government itself. If you work for this company, just know that you are personally liable for the claims and statements you make on the phone.
and finally..
6) Your calls are being recorded. Intimidation, lies, and threats, are NOT a good thing to make to people on the other end of the phone. These are things that can and will come back to haunt you.
Attorneys exists all around for a reason. If you're going to think that using the word "attorney" is going to scare someone to jump, you're wrong. Attorneys can and do sue each other and in this case, just be warned, not everyone you call will roll over and take your outright BS.
When you receive these calls, the best thing you can do is to contact the FCC and FTC to file complaints. Futher, its best to contac tthe AG in your state and file the complaint as well. If you have access to an attorney, contact them as well. There are many attorneys out there that can and will take this on a contigent case.
Oh, and CCE, just understand something too.. calling people at 6:45am is not going to get you anywhere either. ;) You may think you know your rights and rules and you do push them.. your attorneys aren't very smart either if they think they only have to skurt the federal rules. You must remember that each state has slightly different rules as well. And, when you call in to the state of California, they have probably THE MOST strict rules when deailing with Californians.
My suggestion to you? ... find a new business scam because this one can ultimately find you in prison. Using tax information as a form to defraud people and make people believe that they MUST use you to work though any issues is an outright fraud. Intimidation may work for some people, however, with others it will just land you in hot water in all the wrong places that I'm sure you don't want to be in.
