Was interested in a car.

Shortly after placing add online to sell a utility trailer, I started receiving text messages from out of state numbers reading "Hi,I want to make an inquiry about your utility trailer,if still available kindly email me at [email protected] with recent imag" when I called the number it says person is unavailable at that extension.  Shortly after you call number you get another text demanding very rudely you email them.  Don't know what scam they are but it is very annoying to be pestered by people wanting to take advantage.

Its an overpayment scam.  The scammer will offer to buy your item for your full asking price without looking at it.  He wants to send you a cashier's check for the purchase price plus extra you are to wire to a shipper he has chosen.  You deposit the check and wire the money.  The wired money clears instantly.  The check bounces, but it may take several weeks.  The scammer and the shipper are the same person.  He keeps the shipping fee and vanishes.  Your bank makes you pay back all of the money and probably charges you a fee for depositing a bad check.

Instead of a cashier's check the scammer may want to pay by Paypal, but its the same idea.  He sends you a fake note that the money is in your Paypal account.

He is texting to hide his foreign accent.  He may be using a spoofed number or he may have others in his house/apartment/shack answering his phone for him.

I received the same txt for goods Iam selling  online thank you for posting . I felt uneasy about it . Same exact message only for a puppy and was going to send a carrier to pick up..

Placed a ad in Awanna and this number replied and wanting to buy product by sending cashier check.
I looked the number up and same email [email protected].. Also wanted to send xtra to have sent for delivery.
