So glad I looked up the email address!! Thank you all for this post! I got the texts and emails, said they were traveling to Canada... Told them I have a contract for the pups I'm selling and they had to sign it before pups are released to new owners and they never replied. So happy I followed my gut on this!! My babies are everything to me, I hope someone will stop this person and stop this scam!!
Received a text message wanting to send me a cashiers check to pay for a riding mower. They also wanted to send extra money for me to give the shipper when he arrived to accept delivery of the mower. I am waiting for the check and will be ready to photograph the "shipper" and detain the shipper when he arrives.
I posted a furniture ad on Classified Free Ads and got an e-mail from this number. As the area code is not in my area I have learned to look them up in google and learn of a scam. I do not even open the e-mail. Thank you for having this information online.
I posted a Craigslist ad and an IWANNA ad for an item I'm selling. Googled this number (864-810-4347) and found numerous comments re it being a scam. Many thanks to Google for the heads-up.
Oh my goodness! Thank you Google and than you for this site!!! I too have been contacted by this scam. I just read all your posts and it is all so similar! I placed an ad for a storage bldg.. Someone texted me at 10:10pm - a VERY late hr to contact a stranger. Red flag. Then, in texting, got VERY pushy about wanting my email info. More red flags. Then, same bizarre story in email. I will get it and paste it here for you all. Here it is: "The price is fine with me and pictures look nice. I'm currently not in town so payment would be made in form of a cashier's check which can be sent soon as possible and should deliver within 2-3 business days. A carrier agent would be contacted to arrange pick up&delivery right after payment is delivered. Full name,phone number and home address would be needed to issue and mail payment. I'll be traveling to Canada in a few days and may not be in touch with the agent before my departure,if it happens to be so his fee could be added to the check that would be sent to you,he'll contact you and provide information on how you can get the funds across to him soon as we get in touch." Talked with friends today who all agreed, something is VERY fishy here! Thank you so much for sharing everyone - I am breathing better to know the truth. And! I feel SO grateful for the God-given gift of instinct. To come here and see so many also touched by this attempt at scamming, makes me feel affirmed! I am so NOT being paranoid! Lol. Thank you, thank you and thank you! Wow.
