As usual, these "phone numbers" are a ploy and why our US Gov't doesn't do something to put an end to it is beyond me. But of course, our "do nothing" FCC, who monitors the "Do Not Call List",nothing ever gets done. Both my cell phone and home phone are unlisted but still these hackers find a way to get into them! I have changed both numbers twice in the past year and still I get these constant annoying calls at all hours of the day and night. I suppose not having a phone is the solution. I even considered UHF mobile phones but it is rare that someone would have one for my transmissions as well as my creditors or family members to communicate with! Even trying to block these calls is almost impossible. When will it ever end; probably never most likely!!!!
Original call from 909-555-0173, called back from this number. Indian accent, claimed to be from Microsoft and that my computer is infected with viruses/malware. I find it amusing that he didn't even address me by name, or identify what computer he was referring to, seeing as we have three computers in this household.
Don't listen to these scammers, folks, they're no doubt phishing for identity information, probably by trying to convince you to give them access to your computer, either via asking for your IP address or asking you to download "protection" software. Don't know exactly what their methods are; I hung up on him (twice).

Indian accented Male with good English skills. Callers was careful to stay on script suggesting he was calling from "Windows" about a problem with my computer. When I challenged him on whether he as calling from Microsoft, not Windows, he had an obviously scripted response about acknowledging Microsoft BUT that he was specifically calling about Windows and problems with my computer. I asked him which of my Apple devices were having issues with the Windows OS. He hung up of course. Obvious scam. Not sure what they ere looking to gain. Worried about seniors falling prey to this stuff. I guess everyone has a price.
