They have other numbers they call from. Each time I get one, I put it on my blocked calls through Verizon. The block will work but in about a weeks time they will call from another number. I do not answer the call. I still have no idea where they got my private cell number from.
Called to "lower my interest rates" with no name given for the introduction. Press "1" to speak to our....blah blah blah. Registered with the National Do Not Call Registry. SO SCREW OFF!! Dont even waste your time picking up the phone
Just called me - for fun I pressed 1 to speak to a person who said they were going to lower my credit card interest rates. When I asked which one the lady responded (in a thick NYC accent) Visa and MasterCards. I said which one again - when she didn't know how to respond I told her it was a phishing scam and that I was going to turn them in. She hung up! So if you feel like having some fun - when you get the call from 901-248-7430, feel free to go crazy with your bad self. See how long you can keep them on the line before they realize you're on to them ;)
6/22/11, 1:14 PM Just got a missed call on my cell phone from this number. My number is still active on the national Do Not Call registry. I didn't recognize the number on the caller ID, so I let it go to voicemail. The message pertained to getting a lower rate; the recording used a lady's voice and was obviously playing during my outgoing announcement because the beginning was cut off. Why can't the FCC/FTC or whomever track and shut these scammers down?
