all he said was my name, last 4 of my SS, He would not answer my questions which were
when was the check submitted for payment, and where, what city? not the bank city, to what company in what city?
My ex husband has done this before, I need answers. He refused to give me the answers to those simple questions. period. any company seeking retribution would be willing to give you answers as to when, where, how.
Just the company and the bank the check came from, wouldn't even give me the amount of the check. said I was being sued for the amount owed, which was a little over a grand. He kept talking over me and did not even want to speak of anything else, just make threats that I will go to jail on federal fraud charges.
I told him the company didn't press charges what was he going to do? the company itself has to press the charges for a bad check, not a collection agency... so Now I wait.
Received call, did not answer, My mother got a call, she answered... I called them back... Im being prosecuted for a bad check from an account I have not had since the late 90's, early 2000's, to a company i used once in TX and paid cash for. I was threatened they would put me in jail if I did not pay the 1000.00 and something within the hour. I called my father, for help. He checked out the number and refuses to do it... I call them back, tell them this, Im being prosecuted and will have a warrant for my arrest today.
I don't know, but a collection agency can't press charges, it has to be the company itself? and for a bad check? the company I wrote the check to would prosecute me, not a collection agency. anything else to ruin my day?

I just received 5 phone calls in a row from this number. One message was left stating: "this is George from legal services, and I needed to return his call as soon as I get the message regarding a formal complaint against me." My mother (who lives in another state) sent me a text stating the same thing...she asked him if he was a bill collector and he said no, that it was more serious and he's trying to keep me out of trouble. He gave her the name George Bowden. He will need to speak to my attorney if he calls again!!!
