Used the name of John Smith then Mark Brown. Threatened to send someone to my mailing address to slap me real hard when I refused to forward the info to my daughter.
My husband and I received a call from this same number who identified himself as "Mark Brown" on June 27,2014. He left same type of message threatening arrest warrant, contacting job, etc. He said he was with the "Bureau of ??? Investigations" like it was a federal or private agency. Reverse number look-up said Sprint was the carrier, but when I called them the csr verified that it was neither a contract/post-pay or a pre-pay acct. with them and is with some other carrier, but she didn't have any info. on which one it could be. I have reported this to the BBB in Memphis and have contacted the TN Atty Gen and filed a report with the appropriate agency. I agree with "Call FTC" that we need to report these calls to the proper authorities, and his suggestion of using google voice is also a great idea! And I also agree with "Bob" that if anyone who calls will leave a message if it is important. Please do not allow your loved ones, especially the elder ones, to be frightened by these crooks. Telling these scammers that they are being recorded is a great trick because even if you are in a two-party notification state they will not report you because they know They will be arrested for illegal activities! So, More Power To US as U.S. Citizens! Good Luck!
