I doubt you were "signed up" for anything, It's probably a scam that dials numbers automatically and randomly, looking for gullible people to either respond to the call or to call back. Answering or calling back lets the scammer know the number is "live" and they can use it for other scams or even sell it to other scammers. Wise not to answer unknown numbers and never to call back.
