I received a call from this number. I called it back because the automated voice saying this was about a pre-trial intervention and it hung up on me before I could press 1 to talk to someone. The lady that answered the phone didn't even ask me for my name but pulled up my info and wanted me to verify my SSN - which I refused. I then asked her which court this was going to be filed in so I could contact my lawyer - she would not give me that info and she hung up on me. I called it back and someone answered and hung up on me again. I called it back from a different phone number and asked to speak to a manager and they refused to let me speak to a manager or anyone in charge. Then the lady procedued to tell me that I was on some kind of medication and hung up on me.
Number spoofing creates obstacles in tracking down the callers, especially when a good majority of them come from overseas. If you don't know the numbers, stay on the safe side and ignore the phone all the way around. These people are helpless without anyone to play their tricks on.
They didn't not call me personally, but they called my parents home, and work place looking for me. They wanted my parents to give my number and address to them, but my rents refused and told them I would call them. After reading these posts I now know it is a scam, I will not be calling them back and have filed a complaint with the local police department and they are forwarding to the ftc. Thanks everyone for your posts. They have been very helpful.
These guys called me and when I started questioning them they got really angry and threatened to send my report to wi and issue a felony warrent for me. Never heard of the company they are claiming I owe. She also said if I call back they would add herrasment charge. I have contacted the local police crime stoppers unit on these guys.make sure that you all cover yourselfs.
Call this number back the people got mad began to get mad and cursing me out, but guess what i began to call the every second until they ask me, get this too stop calling them, but that is not going to happen.
I thank everyone for their posts. This guy Walter Harrington called me today and left a message on my house phone stating I need to get in touch with my attorney claiming I owe a payday loan. So I called that number back and a lady answered at first and hung up on me, I called back and Walter answered and when I asked him about the lady he said what lady so that made me curious. He went on to tell me that if I don't pay $1432.00 today to stop action on the collection the local police will come to my house around 3 pm and arrest me but he had the wrong address. Another red flag. I told him that I was not paying him any money and what was the name of the loan company. He stated Cash Net and I said never heard of it and that people are trying to commit fraud everyday. Well he got upset and told someone with him to issue a warrant for me today and hung up. I contacted the local DA's office and he said it was a scam and not to answer or call that number
to not entertain it. But it makes you angry that people sit up and think of ways to scam and rip off others. I'm glad I decided to get on the internet and find out for myself just think of all those who will fall for this scam. I'm not quick to give out any information.
