This number calls you claiming you have been selected to receive Federal Grant money. Verifies you name, address and zip code. Then gives you your claim code. Mine was DR143. This lady with a heavy Indian accent tells me to call 3158757881 to talk to Gary to set up my way to receive my $9000 grant from the Federal Government. She claims the money will be sent via Western Union to my closest WalMart or CVS. Low and behold when I call just to see what crap they will spew the call connects me to elevator music and disconnects shortly there after. I call back. Then a guy with a heavy Indian accent answers like he's answering his home phone. I say I was told to speak with Gary. He replies with Gary is busy, can I call back in 10 minutes . Lol! Really? How are you gunna pull off a scam if you can't be available to do so? So then I googled 3158757881 and nothing but countless complaints of this scam where when you actually get to speak to "Gary" he gets you to go to go buy a reloadable gift card for $250 and give them the info so they can drain your card and steal your money. Lmfao! I have to say I didn't expect the gift card thing so kuddos there. I expected they would try asking for bank info but I guess more people are protective over their bank info than a reloadable gift card. "A" for effort Gary, but still a fail on your part. You really are gunna have to up your game a bit more for your scam to work. Phone manners and a team who knows more about your lie might do ya some good. Or there's the better alternative ... Stop trying to scam innocent people! Ain't no one got time for your crap.
My family's house phone got a call from a dude asking for personal information. My younger brother did not reply to any questions and hung up. We feel unsafe.
