I am getting these same calls twice a day every day. I was working out so my husband figured he'd take care of it today and they "wouldn't talk to him" they wanted the mrs. He is nicer then me when it comes to these cold calls. I don't trust them at all, I don't care if it says the name of the company on the phone. If I'm going to donate, I'll just donate, and if I keep getting these calls, I will never donate there again. I am so angry about this. They thought it would be easier to work on me so they disrespect my husband. I don't even believe this is St Jude's, I think it's a scam.
I called General Info number in Memphis, TN. I was transferred to the call center handling donations. Spoke to a human being to have my number taken off their list. (I get 4 calls a week). She wanted my last name. DUH. I told her my last name was not important, it was my phone number I wanted taken off. After a little conversation hassle, she assured me my number would be taken off ALL their lists. YEA RIGHT! What a scam.
I received a call on Christmas Eve!! I told the lady I was not interested and she proceeded to speak and explain that she was with St. Jude Children's Hospital. I told her that it was not a good time for my family and she contniuted to explain about the children. I understand and I donate when I can, but with the current econimic issues I have to provide for my family first. She was really frustrated so I had to hang up on her! Thanks for the info. It was quick and easy and had to speak with NO ONE. Let's hope it goes through as easy.
