Was called by a female and asked if I new about American Renewable Energy Association and offered a free energy audit. She started to ask questions if I owned the property and the corect spelling of my name when I asked why she needed it she said we need to make sure that the spelling is correct. OK I said than how do you have my name spelled now her answer was I can't give that out for security reasons. I than asked how do I know that you are legitimate than? At which time she hang up. Obviously reason to be careful with this caller.
Nathan said he was with American Renewable Energy Association and it was not a sales call, but about the Governments $4000 energy improvement program. Offered a "free" energy audit to see if I qualified for the Government program, which would pay for the improvements. Wanted to schedule an appointment in next two weeks, but needed "some information and answers to a few questions". The first was "Are you the homeowner". I didnt answer and said I was not interested at this time, but could I call back later this month. He said this was an "outgoing" phone only, but he would be happy to call me back. Powertel is a cell phone provider I think. When I called the number, I got a recording that said "The subscriber is not receiving phone calls at this time". Other complaint sites say they are asking for credit and other personal information. SCAM/Fraud!
