I received a call from this number @ 7:30 pm and, since I didn't recognize the number, I didn't answer. From the above reports, I see that I only missed out on making a scammer angry.
A person with an east indian accent introduced himself and said the call was about my computer. It's the scam where they tell you something is wrong and they want you to give them your credit card number to fix it. I wish someone would find out where that call center is and call an airstrike in on it.
Caller was a woman with an Eastern Indian accent. This was the fifth or sixth time I've received a call about a problem with my computer. I've told these people several times that I don't have a computer and that they should stop bothering me. They insist that my name is on a Microsoft list. I've told them that they're mistaken and that, furthermore, I've filed a complaint with my state attorney general's office. This woman then asked me if I was threatening her and I told her no, that I was merely stating what I had done and that her company should quit harassing me. The call was listed on the caller ID as "S Beckett"- strange name indeed for a foreign computer "repair" company.
Indian guy called me to say that my computer had downloaded some bad things and if I turned it on me would show me. Cut him off and did not let him go into his sales pitch. Was on the computer at the time. Know my computer is running clean.
