Just got a call from this number. As soon as I heard Jacksonville, FL, I hit my Call Blocker button! Been getting a ton of scam calls from area code 904.
You need to have caller ID on your phone and then invest in a Call Blocker machine (less than $100 -- Amazon.com). As a senior citizen, you're a target for all of these scammers. If you see a number you don't recognize on the phone's ID, (1) don't answer; (2) after it stops ringing, Google the number to see if there are any reports; (3) if it's a telemarketer, go to your Call Blocker and block the number, then delete it from your phone. If that number calls back, it will automatically be blocked from ringing through. The problem is that these scum have lots of phone numbers that they call from, so if you answer just one call, they know they've reached an active number and they sell it to all of their scamming buddies. The only way to protect yourself from these harassing calls is to call block them. It's a pain but less aggravating than getting multiple calls everyday.
How stupid is our government. These fake sales calls, "can you hear me", have been going on for weeks, many times a day!
And why has no effort been executed to stop this exploitation of the public??
