This is all true. But there's a much more fundamental reason SIT doesn't work and it's entirely non-technological: Even if a number really *is* "not in service" today it could be assigned to a new customer *tomorrow*. The illegal telemarketers therefore have no reason to pay any attention to even legitimate "not in service" notifications: They just have their robo-dialers continue to hit that number every day until, inevitably, the phone company assigns it to someone. got a call from this number 905 000 0000....they said they were from credit bureau of canada....doug ext 244 ph. no. 1-866-256-8964. If this is the canadian government....why the spoof number? FAKE
