They claim that they are with Card Member Services and are calling to reduce your credit card interest rate. IT IS A TOTAL SCAM. They call to get your personal information and of course your credit card information. Do not give them any information what so ever. Any information that you give them will be used to prove your identity to unauthorized use of your credit cards or open credit in your name. Credit card companies will never call you about credit card promotions. If unsure, always call the number on the back of you credit card.
Maribel, invest in a call blocking machine. Best thing I ever did. Have had mine for a few years and love it! Some are harder than others to use so you would need to do your homework on what is the best one for you. Some of them don't give very many numbers to store. So you will want to look for one that has a lot of phone number storage. You might call your phone company/service provider, depending on if you use a home phone or cell phone (or both) and ask if they have this service. Some phone companies/service providers provide a small amount to block for free and charge a small fee after that amount and some don't provide it at all, so you'd need to invest in getting a call blocker. If you have a cell phone, and your provider doesn't have call blocking, then you'd need to download an app for call blocking. Your cell phone provider might be able to tell you what would be a good one to use on your type of phone. You can also research the internet on what the best call blocker app would be for your type of cell phone.
