Did you stay at Yosemite or Reno, NV in July 2012? I started getting telemarketing calls after completing a phone survey for a Reno, NV hotel I stayed in. The telemarketing calls got worse after I received a automated calls from Yosemite regarding the hantavirus outbreak during my stay. Was my phone number sold by the hotel's survey contractor or Yosemite (actually Deleware North Companies)?? Did this happen to you too?? Solution: Never take a phone survey. Never answer a number you don't recognize.
Looks like someone different might have started using this same number to annoy us. Callerid read "US ARM FOR ASSN". Left no message but callerid doesn't sound like what other people complained about on this number several years ago. Other info about previous numbers used by this org based on callerid at: 8772034163
Second call came in from this scam artist. I answered. Guy said he was a paid fundraiser and went into a spiel about raising money for returning troops.
I let him ramble for several minutes. He then said he would send a pledge card of some kind in the mail. Would that be OK?
Me: Nope.
I hung up. Donate money to worthy charities, not to scum sucking paid fund raisers that take 98% of what you donate.
