4/03/17 13:40 PDT Number blocked so only rang once, then disconnected. Eventually, they will probably learn and either change number or ID, or both. In any case, if I don't know who is calling, I don't and won't answer.
(909) 786-1939 scammers' keep on calling even though I blocked them back in November. As I said in previous occasions, fortunately, my phone only rings once and disconnects the call, just to let me know that a blocked-pest is not giving up.
These criminals call every other day!!! They've been blocked for several months now. They're probably too stupid to realized that their number is permanently blocked!
They don't know the calls are being blocked. They aren't actually dialing your number, they use a robodialer service computer to make multiple calls by voice over Internet protocol. The robodialer scrolls through the pre-purchased list of phone numbers, calling them in sequence. If a call is blocked or picked up by an answering machine, then it closes the call and dials the next one on the list. When a call is answered by a real person, the computer transfers the call to the next free real operator who will try to rip you off. When an operator starts trying to talk to your answering machine it is because the robodialer incorrectly identified your answering machine as a real person. If you pick up the call and no one is there it's because all their operators are already on calls and there was no one available for the robodialer to transfer you to.
The scammers don't care if some numbers are being blocked as long as their operators are still getting connected to enough potential suckers that they are staying busy.
