OH Please let me upload the support scam that claims my PC is infected and to call this number !! Claims to be Microsoft and that these villains already have my FB and bank login info, it's a TOTAL SCAM!
Received a call, they asked for someone, couldn't understand the name given, despite repeating it several times. Accent was normal for US, but the name they were asking for was definitely not something I could pronounce. I said I knew no one by that name, they said Thank you and hung up. *shrug*
They called my cell phone today which has been on the FTC's do not call registry for more than a decade. An Asian-sounding female says she's with "Durable Medical" and asks to verify my insurance info and says I'm qualified for a knee brace. I'm then transferred to her supervisor (also Asian-sounding) who re-verifies everything and says I'm qualified and a doctor will call me back. I ask for a contact number for the company and she tells me I have nothing to worry about, and that after 24 hours they'll put a doctor on the line to assess my medical condition and the doc will provide all that information. She doesn't volunteer, but when I ask (because I googled the phone number that appeared in my caller ID and saw the above complaint while I had her on the phone), she does confirm that her company is Healthy Marketing, which she says is out of Florida but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Healthy Marketing LLC owned by one David Mullaney out of North Carolina -- not the least of which is because the 910 area code that came up for this number is a NC area code.
Typical medical insurance fraud operation. They will get the so called doctor to approve a medical appliance without ever seeing you or reviewing your medical records then bill your insurance whether you actually need the device or not. Most insurance companies are on to these scams and refuse to pay unless the appliance is ordered by an in network doctor that you were referred to by your primary care physician.
