Identified themselves as Rachael at Cardmember services. Two red flags here. (1): The number is a cell phone number traced to US cellular and is usually assigned to US cellular customers in the Wilmington, NC area. I know this because I have a cousin living in Wilmington, NC whose cellphone number starts out as 910-473-xxxx. Why would a credit card services department identify themselves with a caller id of a cellphone number? (2): The only identity was "Cardmember services". My credit card company sent out a statement months ago stating that they would identify themselves over the phone as "(name of credit card provider) CARDHOLDER CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT" because of the credit card scams that were very numerous at the time.
