Received a call at 2 pm in middle of Wednesday workday.
I did not answer but caller ID said it was a call from NY.
No message left. I am on the do not call list - but it doesn't seem to change a thing.
I am on the "do not call list" however this number came up, with saying "Name not found"....nevertheless I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number. No message was left. My number is private and a am dumbfounded that a marketer or whatever/ whomever has it. Last month I went round and round with phone/cable co about a 45 min phone call, supposedly placed from this line which is land based, to Egypt.
If your phone number is between (000) 000-0000 and (999) 999-9999, that's how they found it. Criminals use computers, high speed internet, & voip. Computers can make millions of calls a day. They pick an area code and away they go. Then tomorrow, they change their caller ID & pick another area code. Simple as that.
