Yes it was all over the news and had you taken the time to listen carefully and used that grey matter between your ears to think, you would have heard the words "might, maybe, or possibly". Again that alleged recording would not hold water. Further, they would need more than that single word for it to work. Even further than that why would they even need you to say "yes"? Anyone could say it. The phone company doesn't have a recording of your voice to compare to. Now, can anyone point me to a case where someone was actually scammed this way? No, because no one ever has.
But let us take this even further. Everyone has smartphones, and they all have the capability of recording. So you go into a restaurant and they say "Would you like a menu?" you answer "yes". Then they go in the back and charge your card thousands of dollars. Their evidence "Is $2000 a fair price for this meal?" Answer "yes".
So, I guess you had better never, ever utter that three letter word again for the rest of your life.
