Yeah, I occassionally get these calls too. I got this one from New York. But I now receive many less than I used to. First, let me say my solution is not fullproof, but it has cut down on the number of calls we receive now to where sometimes we receive none for several days in between calls. Although with the political season in full swing, you will receive political calls. My first suggestion is to get a caller I D unit AND USE IT ! IF the call is from a long distance source or you do not recognize it then DO NOT ANSWER IT ! When you do all you are doing is to confirm for these scam artists that they have reached a viable, working number and they WILL continue to call you and sell your number to other scam artists. Secondly, use sites as these to ascertain who DID call you. Question to ponder: What if no one ever answered their calls again, what would happen to them ? Wouldn't they have to go out of business ? No ignorant people to take part of their scams means no mo money, so they quit !
