SCAM! Who knows what they even wanted but a gentleman by the supposed name of William Smith called for an individual in our office. I asked him what company he was with and he said he was not with one, but that his cousin John Marsh (March?) was friends with our employee and gave him some documents that he needed to talk about. I knew it was a scam based on the information provided and he became agitated that I was asking him questions. When I put him on hold he of course hung up.
Get a call from this number, a guy asked to speak to me, when I told him "speaking" he said "sorry for disturbing you" and hung up. I heard keyboard typing and background noise right before he hung up.
I just received two calls from this number at my work phone. Calls went to our general switchboard number. Man with foreign accent asked for me. The phone call seemed to be dropped as I picked up, but I was able to hear him spell my last name. There was a lot of background noise on the call. I thought it might be a cellphone. I don't have any information on who it was or why he called, but I told my work colleagues not to pass the calls along to me if they came in again. Creepy.
I just received a call from this number...also at work. They asked for me by name. I wouldn't confirm my identity...and, the gentleman (with a thick Indian accent) just continued to ask for me. I asked from what company he was calling...and he said "I'm calling from New York." I again asked from what company he was calling...and he said he wasn't calling from a company. He again asked me for me by name...and I again refused to confirm my identity... simply telling him that without any additional information from him... I wouldn't allow him to speak with the person he was trying to reach. He hung up. I've gotten several phone calls like this on my cell phone...all scams trying to get me to give out information about my computer. But, this is the first call I've received at work...which is scary that they're able to get that information.
Just got a call from this number, said his name was Kevin, heavy accent and noisy background, knew my name, asked for a Linda Richardson, said he was a friend and she was a former VP, I pushed for reason he was calling and he then hung up - not able to call back
