I received a call from this number at 11:25 AM. I did not answer the phone. The message was a recording claiming that a lawsuit had been filled from the IRS against me and I needed to call back. The IRS does not call you ever! It's a scam!
Called me today, robo message saying it was IRS, final notice, etc. I called back, and spoke with one thickly-Indian-accented "Peter Johnson." The call got dropped somehow, and "Peter" called me back from a # that my phone said was from RUSSIA. A quick Google search of the original phone # already made me think it was a scam; the fact that they called me back from what my phone identified as a Russian number just confirmed, to me, its a scam. (Oh, "Peter" told me there was a warrant issued for my arrest as well.)
Received an automated call on our home number from "IRS Agent Officer" telling me to call them back as there was a debt outstanding with my name on it. I called back from my cell and spoke with Mr. broken english, (Asian), "please give me your name and phone number so I help you". I didn't of course and proceeded to ask him his name and who he was with. I was told "Officer John Smith" Wow! So original. And I asked again, who he was with. He stated again he was with the IRS and there must be an arresting warrant for tax fraud and I'll need to pay at once. I advised him I was a federal police officer myself. And he was a fraud and a scam artist. American's NEVER receive calls from the IRS and the IRS doesn't have "Officers". He tried to talk over me and convince me he was legit. I hollered at him and told him I was reporting them to the real authorities. Stop SCAMMING Americans and go back to your own country. His supervisor jumped on the phone and with his oriental accent tried to tell me he too was an IRS Agent Officer. Bahahahaha!
