Legitimate callers leave a message on your answering machine. This is how I screen out the criminals. For the past few years my telephone ring tone has been set to zero. I do not get bothered by it. I do not know that someone called me if they do not leave a message on the answering machine.
This number is probably being generated by a caller ID spoofer. They called me saying they were a radio station and asking if I would like a chance to win _____. Of course I did not fall for it.
I just received a call from 925-000-0000. I sent it right to voicemail and they left a robo-call message. It seems this is a commonly used spoof number. This particular call was from a "legal" office notifying a person, whose name I did not know, that they had to appear in court. Even the phone number they gave for the originator of the lawsuit wasn't correct for a US number. This person was supposed to be considered "legally served." The message is full of many holes - why would a legitimate company use a spoofed number? There was no identification of who they were, just that they were trying to reach a "one John Smith." Needless to say - for what it's worth - the number has now been blocked. It's definitely some kind of con job.
Received a call from 925-000-0000 today on my work phone. Had a robo message stating this was a legal matter about a checking account attached to my social security number and left 877-577-4238 as a contact. PURE SCAM!!!! do not give these maggots your personal info!!!!! They are not LEGIT!!!!
