Someone called our company from this number asking for a contact for booking large meetings at the Ritz Carlton. When I told her we have 2 towers downtown and don't need the space for such a meeting, she persisted to ask who the contact would be. I told her "No thank you" firmly and hung up. She then proceeded to call me back just to call me an [***]. Nice. I somehow doubt she represents the Ritz Carlton.
Received a call from this number saying it was 'Raul' from the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Airport in Atlanta. He wanted a name so he could send some papers to whomever organizes our meetings.
I did recently attend a meeting at the Crowne Plaza in Atlanta, however was not the meeting organizer and did not book a room so that hotel had no reason to call me or have my phone number on file.
I told 'Raul' that I would find out who from our group organized the meeting and then would call him back. He said he would call me back in a day or two to find out the answer. I said that I wasn't sure how long it would take them to get back to me so please give me a phone number to call him back.
He said he wasn't sure what his call-back number was (like he was on some kind of telemarketing trunk-line or something) and would check. He then hung up.
I think the only way he could have known to call me is from the purchase I made using my credit card in the restaurant or for paying at the automated parking kiosk. How he associated that with my phone number I do not know. I will be monitoring that credit card very carefully.
Very sketchy. Luckily I did not give him my own name or the name of my organization during our call.

Received a call from this number at 08:10 today. Caller asked if I was was the SIS Corporation. I told him he had a wrong number. SIS is a legitimate business but I will be monitoring my accounts closely. Strange.
I got a call from this number. A woman told me she was calling on behalf of Marriot hotel and would like to get a name in order to send a letter to whoever organizes meetings at my organization. I actually am going to a meeting this evening at the Marriott so I gave my name. She then said "thank you and hung up.
The same woman called 2 minutes later and this time told me she was calling on behalf of the Crown Plaza hotel, with the same comment. I replied that we had spoken 2 minutes earlier and that earlier she had told me it was for Marriott. She said she would check something and call me again. She has not called back. Should I be worried?
