This afternoon I received a mystery call. Supposedly trying to sell me solar panels. She wanted to know too much personal information. The guinea pig that I am I gave her too much personal data. Currently on the no-call list doesn't mean much...don't know how she got my phone number. I asked her she gave me double talk.. when she stated my address was Howard st. and wanted my current address I ended the phone call.
I received a call from this number at 8:30 AM. I waited a few seconds after I said "hello" before anyone came on the line. I figured since it was before 9:00, it must be ok. (Don't telemarketers have some kind of rule about this?) The man said he was calling about my SMUD bill...not that he was from SMUD and my display didn't say "SMUD"...so I figured it was some kind of telemarketer. He also didn't stop talking when I began to talk. So I did my usual..."I am not interested" without waiting for him to stop talking and not allowing him to ask any questions. In these cases, I am not too polite; I just say "I am not interested. Goodbye" and hang up. They don't usually call back. I think this is the second or third time someone's called in the past couple of months.
Caller said she was from Renewable Energy something or other. She called my cell phone number, which is on the Do Not Call list. I hung up immediately.
