This is good information but doesn't necessarily provide the relief you expect. I have AT&T call blocking but still continue to receive unwanted telemarketer calls from companies that are NOT exempt from the Do Not Call register. According to the rep I spoke with they blocking services provided by your phone service company can actually only stop about 40% of the unwanted called because of the advanced technology being used by these telemarketers. Obviously there must be money to be made for these scammer or they would simply die a natural death. Best thing to do is either hang up on them when they call or simply not answer calls from unknown (or blocked) numbers. I wish there was a solution but, as long as some people respond positively to these con-artists, they are going to continue finding ways to locate suckers.
Calls number and hangs up when we answer. It's difficult for us to get to the phone and I'm learning only way to avoid this is not answer the phone. However our grown kids and families call often from all over the world, and it hurts worse to miss a call that may be a loving and meaningful message from one we haven't heard from, and then they worry or worse don't call back for even longer next time. There's always going to be scammers, it's a shame they bother us old folks.
