Well complaining never solved anything, but you could prevent some calls from calling you a second or more times by blocking the number. Scammers will keep calling people as long as people keep answering and falling for their tricks. Phone companies make money and don't care who is calling who, unless a crime has been pointed out to them and the law steps in to enforce it.

937-573-4284 called our business again today. Previously I had not answered the call because the caller i.d. said, "Toledo, OH" and I know from other calls with similar caller i.d. names that have all been telemarketers. But today I decided to answer. The lady, who was very nice in the beginning, wanted to speak with a named person who hadn't been at the business for 20+ years. I informed her that she had the wrong number. She asked if this was [our business name] at [our phone number] and I said yes. She asked again for the man's name and I informed her he had not been at the company for years and could I help her(?) She replied she was calling about our AEP account and further credits to be applied and a refund given to us. I informed her that she was mistaken, that we did not have an AEP account and asked her to take our number off of her calling list. She said that I misunderstood her and that she was trying to keep our discounts and credit by providing better rates with our bill. I repeated again that we do not have an AEP account and we are not interested in changing or receiving information about lower rates. She said that this named man had personally asked for these credits and that we were going to lose any refund due to us and then she asked for my name so "she could note it on our account". I told her I would not provide my name and once again, that we do not have an account with her. She said that I was not understanding her that she was trying to continue the credits and possible refund of money to us and what was my name again. I told her that we were not interested in any credits, discounts, rebates or anything else that she was offering & I again told her I would not give her my name and take our number off of her list. We did this back and forth probably four or five times until she finally up on me.
I just got a call from the same number. When I answered it, I could hear an India accent and had them repeat what he said. He asked for my father which is in a nursing home the last two years. I told him, he had the wrong number and added his number to my call blocker. AEP of Ohio has no programs for rebates and discounts. AEP has had several scams in the past year. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of those scams.
