Yesterday, several unknown number showed up on my phone. I wasn't home then, but I was this morning and answered. Gal with nasal, southern accent said she was calling from Publisher's Sweepstakes Centre and my name had been entered into a draw for $25,000.00. Immediately asked for my year of birth. I asked her what comapny is this? She replied that she had told me what company she was calling from! I asked her where this company was from and she exhaled and told me they had offices in the US and Canada and what was the year of my birth. I told her no thanks but to have a nice day. As I was putting the phone down, I could hear her quite loudly saying "mam, I just asked for your year of birth!" She needs to take a course in customer service.
same thing happened to me. i gave them the year.. and she read my address... but i didnt give her my card numbers or anything else... still concerned as well...
I had this exact same phone call today.. i have a watch being delivered apparently. and they tried to push me to the supervisor and was immedietley put back on the phone with a Jeanie. saying that they're experiencing higher then usual call volumes. this is my first call like this and i went along with this.. am i being scammed what do i do... AHHh help!
Just received a follow up call from this same company. it was the shift manager.. she was extremely rude when i seemed hesitant to follow through with this "order." Tried to assure me that this company has been in business since 1995. and that i shouldnt believe everything i read on the interenet.. cancelled my order and still not sure if this is a scam.. but i got out of it.
if it wasnt a scam u think their customer service would be a little more professional.. just seemed very sketchy to me
Publisher's Sweepstakes phoned me April 30th. I did not allow them to give me a sales pitch or offer me any prize or free vacation. I told them I didn't want to speak to them and hung up. However, I was bothered by the call because I am on a "do not call list" and do not want any phone solicitations at all!
I got the same phone call and I answered on the 2nd time they called just incase it was my roommate whose phone was being stupid and used a different phone mine didnt recgonize. The scary thing was that I didnt even give them my infornation. They already had it and apparently im getting a entered in for a 25000$ prize and i get a diamond watch and a few magazine subcriptions for a free 24 months. I hung up after she finished it. I could tell she sounded old lady and she was very charasmatic.. scam??? I think so. I just dont know how they got my information
