Yesterday, several unknown number showed up on my phone. I wasn't home then, but I was this morning and answered. Gal with nasal, southern accent said she was calling from Publisher's Sweepstakes Centre and my name had been entered into a draw for $25,000.00. Immediately asked for my year of birth. I asked her what comapny is this? She replied that she had told me what company she was calling from! I asked her where this company was from and she exhaled and told me they had offices in the US and Canada and what was the year of my birth. I told her no thanks but to have a nice day. As I was putting the phone down, I could hear her quite loudly saying "mam, I just asked for your year of birth!" She needs to take a course in customer service.
I had a call from the same number, with all the same thing $25,000 draw and a watch. when I declined the watch and the magazines the lady on the other line got upset with me and said "you do realize youre getting a DESIGNER diamond watch for free, why in the world wouldnt you get one?" and I politely declined and she wouldn't let up about the watch for the magazines. I believe this is a magazine scam.
They called me from an unknown number! I was half asleep and answered it. They said "this is annual sweepstakes and we'd like to enter you in the 25000$ contest. I said ok. They even told me my address so I thought this is obviously legit then. Asked me the year I was born. And gave me a list of magazines I could have. I said readers digest and a garden one I'd have to pay 3.00 for. I thought " how cool is that?" Then the big mess up on their part was asking for my phone number when they called me! I snapped wide awake and asked "your annual sweepstakes, my parents went bankrupt from u guys!" Which is very true. When I was a kid my brother and I were dressed in rags because of them! So again after I said that my parents went bankrupt They hung up on me faster then I can finish my sentence
