This was heavily mideastern-accented "John" from "U.S. Financial", in a busy call center, uh, somewhere... After giving him bogus information about my mortgage (hey wait - I don't HAVE a mortgage...!) for 5 minutes, he passed me to his supervisor, heavily mideastern-accented "Frank", who repeated the bogus info (I agreed completely...) for another 4 minutes. He put me on hold to get rates, then hung up(!). Hopefully, if they start getting more "Punkers" than "Suckers", their business model will fail and they will just quietly go away. This is so much fun it should be illegal...
I didn't answer, because I didn't recognize the number or the caller ID, "Laguna Beach, CA." But I called back twice and no one answered the phone. I'm sure it's a telemarketer.
