Just got a call from this famous fraudulent "John Brooks", who could hardly put together a sentence and yet claimed his was a lawyer. Said that legal action has been filed against me for check fraud to some company called Avalon. Said they'd sent me a legal notice to an address I had 6 years ago. Interestingly enough he had my legit email address. Asked him to resend the notification, said I'd been notified and there was nothing I can do. Told him this is total fraud and I was not liable for anything and was not going to do anything.
The idiots called me today and left a voicemail saying the call for Marissa Terrace (not my name). I just completed my MBA with a minor in accounting. I just laughed at their tactics and deleted the message.
John Brooks was extremely rude and aggressive called and said I owed money for a loan in 2011. They threaten to call Social security. I told them to send me proof he stated yelling. I finally hung up.
SCAM!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!!!!! This line is associated with someone who calls himself John Brooks and is hoping to con you into thinking you have an unpaid pay day loan which a company supposedly loaned you money, though they cannot tell you what company loaned you money. Other numbers associated: 8179757604, 9492995964, 4699195318. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!!! They have your stolen personal information and are trying to use it to steal your money! They will threaten to serve you papers for "refusal to pay" and you're company will garnish your wages and you will go to court and will go to jail if you do not pay these phonies. This guy, "John Brooks", said that he is a retired First Sergeant trying to apologize for getting so angry. He is the worst kind of scum!
Caller: John Brooks - representing Westgate Financial Group - I called Westgate Financial and the person I spoke with, Brandon, stated that he is not affiliated with any company that would file a suit for unpaid loans. He also advised me to report this to the Attorney General, FBI and FDCP as well as post on sites like this to help decrease the criminals' ability to deceive people into giving their personal info and/or money.
