Just rcvd a call from man with thick Indian accent. Telling me we have viruses getting in our computers. I asked him questions about what he was saying & he would raise his voice every time I asked a question. I asked for his company phone number so I could call back later at a better time, he hung up swearing at me.
Microsoft scammer - they've been calling from this number for awhile, and they called again tonight. I picked it up before checking the caller ID, and there was a minute of dead air, and then the tail end of a recording, and then dead air again.
Microsoft scam call, like those described above. Said there were serious problems with the PC, including malware and viruses. Conned my spouse out of a credit card payment to Spark Plug Champion for shareware, then wanted remote access to the computer. When refused, continued to call many times from this number which show up on the caller id as Dave Steffenson.
<snarcasm> It's Windows. Of course it has a bunch of errors on it. <end snarcasm>
These scum are counting on your lack of deep PC knowledge to give them your money for nothing.
Same call today at 12:41 CST. Since I'm an IT guy, I played him along pretending I couldn't find Event Viewer so he could show me all the "errors" my PC was generating. He finally got angry & hung up. I presume he finally figure out I was wasting his time.
I received a call from this number 1-952-955-1050 and was told by a person with an Indian accent I had some errors on my Windows operating system. My computer works fine so I googled this number and found from other posts that this is a scam. So glad I just hung up. This is the second time this person called with the same claim of operating errors on my Windows system.
