>> Why doesn't law enforcement crack down on these scammers? <<
The FTC and top communications companies met several times, to determine what they can do to stop robocalls and other illegal calls. Here is a link to a page showing the history and conclusions of various initiatives, as well as links to recent Congressional bills and Industry Implementations.

(I strongly suggest you access the above page, and read the history and progress of
H.R.2669 - Anti-Spoofing Act of 2015
and
S.2558 - Spoofing Prevention Act of 2016
to learn how [slowly] bills progress through our Congressional system, even when there is bilateral agreement that something should be done.)

They just called me claiming that some loans reported to them were not paid and that they are mediators only and if I don't work something out they will be sending me to court. Basically trying to get some kind of payment. Unfortunately for them I am not that stupid so I told them to take me to court which seemed to make her pretty mad. We'll see if I get a summons for court
They also keep robo calling my office, leaving threatening messages for someone. When I call back to let them know there is no such person working here and to please take the number off their call list, they are either rude or sweetly reply they will stop calling, but the never do! Why doesn't law enforcement crack down on these scammers???? Don't tell me they can't; the FBI used to say the same thing about the Mafia, but managed to go after them. This is just a different type of Mafia, using the phone system to harass and steal from American citizens; I bet if they were scamming banks and Wall Street, the government would go after them.
