Here's what I have. I've done my research. Kim at 970-388-3336 is Kim Siemens Zappia in the Fort Collins CO area. She is a private investigator who delivers court summons for collection services. She is easily found on FaceBook, and has a resume posted online (again easily found). She does post notices on your door with painters tape. Yes, there are a number of things wrong with her notices, such as date, time, "2nd notice," "final notice," not receiving prior notices, and so on. Her tactics are border line harassment and not harassment; legally. She is serving court summons on behalf of a collection agency, and it is for real. When you receive the court summons, you need to call the plaintiff (usually the filing attorney) on the summons at which point they will provide you with the collection service who requested the court filing. It's the only way you're going to find out who the collection agency is. The summons does provide further information, if you disagree with the collection. Kim is legit in purpose, but lacking in truthfulness when you talk to her on the phone. I did meet her and it went o.k. It's up to you as to what you want to do with it. I'm settling mine.

The Waddler showed up on Wednesday looking for someone who does not live here. I kept her positioned in front of the security camera. She whipped out with a $.99 badge....the sparkly kind in its own gen-u-ine plastic holder and I told her to leave. She returned on Thursday and taped a piece of paper to the gate addressed to my husband. It claimed to NOT be an attempt to collect a debt, and the name KIM and the phone number. We called the police to see if this was some kind of scam making its way through town. We were advised to call them if she waddles on back in. She represents a company called Wakefield and Associates (google for giggles), which is a collection agency. I filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General's office, and within 10 minutes they were in contact with me and gave me plenty of info, including the fact that in the past 6 months they have had to defend their misconduct 23 times in various Courts. Additionally, they DO employ ex-cons and convicted felons. 15 minutes spent researching collection laws and doing a quick search= priceless power.
