They have called multiple times, I finally answered it and the guy said that they were "in my area" selling alarm systems. All I said was "no thank you" and was abruptly hung up on. Very rude.
Man called himself George. Called me about security systems. I declined and asked to be on the DO NOT CALL list. He hung up before i finished asking. This is the 3rd time he has called. It irritates me tremendously.
This number is considered to be 'spoofed' (Spoofing is when the trick your caller ID into believing the call originated from a name/ number that it really isn't from)
Spoke to a man called George who made his "21 free alarm systems going" pitch to me but I am never happy with a call that gives only a town & state on my ID - also he sounded a bit like a recording - a very clever, voice-activated one, but the rhythm of response/reply was wrong. My husband was right there so I told "George" I was passing the phone to him and George said "Okay" - he spoke to my husband briefly then seemed to start over with the same things he told me; meanwhile, my husband got the same impression as I had - that "George" was a sophisticated, voice-activated recording. When he told George this & asked him twice if he was a recording, George first ignored the question, then the call was disconnected. He also ignored my husband's question as to the name of his company
THESE ROBO-CALLS FROM PIRATED CELL-PHONES NUMBERS ARE DANGEROUS! Most of us know a bogus phone call when we get one but there are still far too many - the elderly, America's foreign-born citizens, the poor, the desperate, who would very much like to get a lucky break - that are still gullible and these creeps only need a 25% success rate to continue. THESE ARE NOT TELE-MARKETERS! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS! The Do Not Call Registry DOES work - we no longer here from REAL tele-marketers, those who try to sell indifferent goods &/or services over the phone. Those people DO have goods/services to sell, however shoddy. THESE ROBO-CALLS ARE NOT SELLING ANYTHING!! THEY ARE TRYING TO GET PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM YOU TO SELL TO IDENTITY THEFT COMPANIES!!! They slither round the DNCR like eels because they are already outside the law and don't care! And I think if our telephone companies REALLY wanted to help they would give us a free number-blocking system so that these bogus calls could only ever call ONCE
And 800-Notes: Please give us more choices in your type-of-call list! Add the word "crook"!
