I have also been getting calls daily from various numbers (including this one) from Oregon and Washington (state). They never leave a message. I have called back the numbers and they all say they are from some political survey group and the time for the survey has expired. States to press 1 to be removed from the call list - pressing 1 does nothing though they still call. I think they are playing the recording that they are a political survey group to avoid FCC "Do Not Call" violations. From other things I have seen - if you talk to someone it is nothing to do with political survey - actually vacation/cruise scams. The reason so many people are getting hung up on when they answer is likely due to them using dialers that call multiple numbers at once and only puts the first one to answer through - this is another FCC violation. I filed a complaint with the FCC "Do Not Call" and in the comment stated that from research I have done this is not a political survey but rather a scam. Hopefully the FCC will investigate and shut them down. Either way - if your number is on the "Do Not Call" list file a complaint with the FCC. If you are not on the list - go to the FCC's web site and register you number.
This number keeps calling my cell phone even after I placed my cell phone number with the donotcall.gov. I'm tired of these calls. Any idea on what can be done to stop them?
