Caller ID said Ind Sur Group. When I answered, there was a recorded message in a woman's voice talking about reducing one's home loan. After a few sentences, the recorded messaged said if you don't own a home or are not interested in further information regarding loans, press 3 which, of course, I did. The caller then hung up. We'll see if we continue to get calls from this number.
if you are in the US and on the Do Not Call list report them this is their website: http://www.independentsurveygroup.org/index.aspx They get your number from the do not call list and try to get around the rules by pretending to be a political survey but they are a telemarketing fraud operation. Political calls and charities are not covered by the do not call list. BUT THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE POLITICAL POLL IT IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. By the way if you list your number with Do Not Call List this list is freely available to anyone. So your phone numbers are given out to telemarketers so they know who not to call ( think about it how else would they know?). What a boon to fraudsters like independent survey group isn't it? Your best bet is to remove your name and number from the list. This is probably the reason you are targeted. In your complaint forget about the telephone number they called from just direct the govt. agency to the web site I provided. They spoof numbers and they change them daily with each scam so the number won't even be working.
I have been getting so many of these scum sucking telemarketers on my cell phone that it is costing me a fortune. My cell phone is a per minute phone. I have it as I have aging parents and any call on it is an emergency.
Then these telemarketers call. So stupid. I do not care what they have, I am so angry that I would not buy anything from them. They need to wise up.
I am on the do not call list. I make it a point of filing a complaint on every one of these scumbags. And I notice that our wonderful government does not believe in enforcing any laws any more. This is just like illegal immigration, not enforced.
Every week I get at least one call from "cardholder Services" saying that this is my final call. But it is never final. I have reported over 100 of such calls to the complaint section on www.donotcall.gov, but it does no good. Complaints must go to a dead hard-drive in a Montana warehouse.
Just got a idea from reading your post why don't we all enter our M.P.'s (in our areas where we live) phone numbers on the DNC list if your right about where the scum sucking telemarketers got our numbers and the M.P.'s get enough telemarketers calling them they might get off there _ucken [***].
